Bio's
We are two chefs, both trained and educated in various hotels & restaurants in the TAMPA BAY area,
Vince starting making pizzas at age 15, working in Catskill NY summer resorts as chef-in- training, then moved to Palm Springs, California, becoming chef at The Greeks after-hours club. He then started the first Chicago-style pizza restaurant in Palm Springs, called Poppy's of Chicago, specializing in layered deep-dish pizza. He moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1979 to work for the Hilton on Clearwater Beach, then the Hyatt and Doubletree hotels in Tampa before moving to management, first as assistant with Stacy Buffet in Holiday and New Port Richey, then to Homers Original Smorgasbord in Tampa, where he became general manager #22 (they went through a lot before me, and after). Then came KER'S WINGHOUSE #1, on Ulmerton Rd in Largo, lasting for 3 years (I think that was a record!) before becoming company manager of TAQUERIA QUETZACOATL on Howard Ave in the SOHO district of Tampa. Moving on next to starting his personal chef services, one of them being called TWO GUYS AND A GRILL, and the newest one called GRILLING A GOGO specializing in on-site grilled breakfast and lunch items, as well as dinner entrees, and all-event tailgate-style gatherings .
TWO GUYS AND A GRILL. cooking for clients in such locations as at the beach for weddings, condominium get together picnics for over 100 ( LAKE TIPPECANOE in Sarasota) backyard birthday parties , and graduation celebrations for 50 or more guests and every home BUCCANEERS football game feeding mass crowds of 1000 or more along with every GASPARILLA DAY PARADE on Bayshore.
